Aprils Fools Call To My Mom
So it didn't go exactly as I planned. She got upset and yelled at me for a while after the call. After she calmed down she told me she was selling our house that I grew up in and moving into a condo in Vegas near my Aunt and Uncle. I was really upset and shocked. Then asked if that was an April Fools. She got me back. I'm proud my Mom is crafty.

Amazing Movie
So I discovered an amazing movie the other day. It was beautifully shot and edited and the fact that the story is amazing doesn't hurt either. Here is a link to it's IMDB account. If anyone wants to borrow it I currently own it. And if anyone likes it enough to want to own it I can burn them a DVD.

In The Mind of a Lesbian Documentary
So I've been working on this documentary for about 3 weeks now and everythings been going pretty good. Six people have been interviewed so far and there are two more that I still need to interview. If anyone knows someone that would be interested in being in the documentary, let me know. Below this I've posted some information about the documentary. Also: there is a party March 27th at a new club called Stir at 17th and Chancellor. So everyone is welcome to come and be merry.
In the Mind of a Lesbian “The Aftermath of Coming Out” Upcoming Documentary 2009
Background of film
As you know, lesbian and gay women of all races and ages go through painful fear, depression, anxiety, identity crisis, and substance abuse everyday. One main cause of all the harmful symptoms is the result of not being able to accept their sexuality and chosen lifestyle. It is not always easy accepting ones self and who you evolve to be as a person, especially when what you choose is considered as wrong in today’s world. Because of this issue, some women have even attempted suicide or settled for prostitution because of lack of support and helpful resources
Now-a-days lesbian and gay individuals believe they have to dress or look a certain way to be gay. I am here to show the world that this is not the case. Due to the stereotypes on how a gay person looks, gay men and woman either lose professional opportunities or are overlooked because of their appearance. It is ok to be proud of whom you are but in a professional world everyone is considered an employee. You are supposed to stand out because of your performance not because of your appearance.
In the mind of a Lesbian “the aftermath of coming out” is a feature-length documentary focusing on the lives and views of lesbians of all races and ages living in the United States. The documentary is structured by interviews, survey focus groups, and statistic conversations the director had with each of the women. It features emotional interviews and testimonials with gay and lesbian women discussing the aftermath of coming out, as well as the trials, tribulations, fears and sickness’ that lesbians have dealt with because of their sexuality and not being able to accept their lifestyle or find necessary resources to help them cope.
Purpose of film
I basically wanted to help lesbian and gay women find a piece of mind by introducing resources they my help them through their bad times. I am presenting a well rounded view of the gay and lesbian experience as it relates specifically to the aftermath of coming out and living in the world today. I most importantly wanted to raise an urgent awareness of what is happening and what will happen to anyone battling with accepting who they are in today’s world.
Specific reasons for doing the project is as follows; lesbian and gay women of all races and ages have been going through painful fear, depression, anxiety, identity crisis and various sickness’ and substance abuse because of their sexuality and not accepting who they are as a person. In the film we will show resourceful centers and support groups, as well as relative stories so that the audience can relate and take some advice on what to do to become comfortable in one’s own skin. After each screening we will mentor and do a Q & A session.
Spread the word
If you know a gay or lesbian individual who is struggling to accept who they are and the lifestyle they have chosen, refer them to us. We want to give positive advice and guidance to help them find peace within the mind. If you feel you are able to contribute to our project, spread the word about our mission to give the LGBT community.
